For Cyclists, Runners and Hikers
- Only minutes away from world-class mountain trails of Hartman Rocks, which is visible from our property. Hartman's provides a high-desert (8,000 ft above sea level) riding/hiking adventure over a 6,000 acre basin. Options range from both miles of smooth, sage-lined single track to concentrated slick-rock technical sections.
- The trails are great for bikers, runners, hikers as well. There are climbing/bouldering areas as well. And don't forget your camera!!!
- There are many maps of trails throughout the Gunnison Country, some available in our front office or at one of several bike shops in town.
- After a tough day of riding, use our complimentary bike washing station, complete with towels.
- After a tough day of running, ice in the river in the White Water Rafting Park, directly accross the road from us.
- Most of our rooms will accommodate your cycles, or store them in our secure storage.
For Folks who Fish
- You will find our porches lined with sturdy hooks for hanging those wet waders out to dry.
- Located directly across from public access fishing.
- For boat owners who will be fishing in the area for multiple times, store your boat free of charge.
- Enjoy the outdoor area where you will be able to meet other people who share your passion of fishing.
- Many of our room feature full kitchen.
- To help you store your "catch," many of our rooms feature full-sized fridges with freezer
For Hunters
There is snow in the air. That means that it is time for hunting. The Gunnison valley is home to several highly sought-after areas.
Take a look at our “Rooms and Reservation” to pick the room style that works best for you and your hunting group. (Be aware that some of our many of hunters return year after year and have a standing reservation for their ‘favorites’ so not all rooms are available for all seasons.)
Our original buildings (only one remains) were built with the two buddies–-when one snored-–in mind. All though smaller, those three rooms continue to work well for the father/son or daughter hunt or two buddies. Other units are more open, still with two queen beds. Or take a suite with a living room area or a single with a king sized bed.
With only 17 units open during hunting season but with over three acres, there is ample room for trailers and four-wheelers. We have wireless high-speed internet so you will be able to email photos to all the envious buddies back home.
Special policies for hunters:
We will book ahead for the next year for our regulars. Let us know if you fail to pull a tag.
We will book you for the entire season. If you fill your tag before the end of the season, you will be allowed to cancel the remainder of the reservation. Since this flexibility is not typical, no special discounts will be given during hunting season.
All kitchens are fully stocked and grills available. After a long day of trekking through the woods, you will be treated to several complimentary soup suppers during the season.
